She has always been passionate about helping others, she loves to be around the community and is grateful for the opportunities to support the Latinx community, her community with resources, and education on topics that affect their everyday lives. She has the fortune of working for Common Power, the organization that made it possible for her to become the founder of Poder Común and lead the work with her amazing team.
This work is important to Maria because, as a first-generation immigrant, first to graduate from a University in her family, she wants to be part of the fight that will bring long-lasting and prosperous changes for her loved ones and community.
